Choreomundus-Erasmus Mundus Master in Dance and Movement as Practical Knowledge and Heritage (acronym Choreomundus)
At the School of Physical Education and Sport Science (S.P.E.S.S.) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece (N.K.U.A.), the two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s programme Choreomundus-Erasmus Mundus Master in Dance and Movement as Practical Knowledge and Heritage (acronym Choreomundus) is offered via the Master Programme Physical Education and Sports. Choreomundus is an integrated joint European master programme, promoted and taylor-made by a Consortium of 4 partner universities that take full responsibility for the whole programme: Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas, Lithuania-V.M.U. (coordinator); National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece-N.K.U.A.; University of Clermont Auvergne, France-U.C.A.; University of Roehampton, London, UK-U.R. Choreomundus explores dance and other movement systems -from ritual practices and martial arts to games, sports, and physical theatre- as forms of Intangible Cultural Heritage (I.C.H.). By analysing how movement practices sustain living heritage in today’s world, Choreomundus develops a comparative and embodied understanding of dance and movement across cultures.
